On 21st of March 2016 the Design Policy Lab at Polimi in collaboration with Luxinnovation, has held a workshop as part of the Design for Europe project.
The workshop has worked on understanding and framing the design policy ecosystem of 7 represented European countries, while imagining strategies to develop a design support action for their specific situation. The group of 20 invited delegates has shared insights on their contexts in the morning, and worked together for imagining improvements in the afternoon. The insights emerged have been framed in the exercises lead by Polimi, and developed as part of the Design Policy Beacon. This will integrate the knowledge that the team is gathering for the development of its evidence-based resource on European design policy, showing that the European context goes beyond the traditional top down presence of national strategies: the most exciting elements concern the hidden and smaller programmes, initiatives and projects where design is currently acknowledged to make a difference.
Further insights on the event will be published later on, as we analyze all the content gathered.
